I make some very large image files and PS CS5 gets the job done. It's that simple. With Adobe's Large Document Format very large panoramas are easy to save and print. Very anxious to get CS6 installed to take it for a spin.

Upgrade from Photoshop 7 to CS5.
Was a huge leap in options, flexibility, and features I have wanted to be able to explore. After using CS5 for a few months, I was upset to find a few of my favorite features were not included in CS5, (one was the Picture package, this was a was a must for me (As a team/player sports photographer, this was the easiest and quickest way to make picture packages for sale to my customers) - Adobe site provided a download a plug-in to add this feature.
Now 1+ years of using CS5 have enjoyed the experience. Content -aware is awesome, etc. Looking forward to getting CS6 soon.
Adobe, keep up the good work!

An Absolute Necessity in Today's Digital World
Posted:15-August-2012
Photoshop CS5 is an absolute necessity in today's digital publishing world. Pictures and GIFs are now an integral part of every article, and 95% of all stock photos have to be altered in some way. Wouldn't know what to do without Photoshop.

I love CS5. The content aware feature is one of my favorite additions. As a photographer for many years, I've used many processing programs starting with the Element series. While new updates and changes challenge me, they quickly become part of what is necessary for me to do my best.

Have not upgraded to the latest Photoshop version as our current, CPUs have reached their maximum memory and speed limits. We do find however that the features added to LightRoom 4, and the ease to have both programs interact with each other makes our Photo image Workflow flawless.

I'm new to Photoshop CS5 after using Photoshop Elements for many years. The learning curve is fairly steep as I am still learning menus and keyboard shortcuts but along with CS5 and Lightroom I'm able to do everything I need to for post processing my photos. The program runs very well on my computer and seems fast with no slow downs.

As always, Photoshop makes my job as well as my home projects so much easier. I design teaching aides, edit photos & digitize all of the language materials for the Nuumu Yadoha Language Program (Paiute Language Program) and I'm the family archivest at home. Photoshop brings our old photos back to life. I would like there to be "go Back" arrows like Elements has. I also miss having each object open in its own window. It made dragging and dropping possible and I'm not always accidently closing everything at once. Other than that, Photoshop is my best-good friend!

I moved up from Adobe Photo Elements 9 to CS5.(and also have Adobe Photo Elements 10 and now CS6). It is great software. It takes a while to learn, but does every thing I ask of it except for one thing. Photo Elements 10 has a cookie cutter tool which I use a lot to make disk labels for home photos and videos. This is a very important tool for me and I was just wondering if you plan to include this tool in CS software in the future. If this feature is in CS6, I can not find it.

Posted:04-July-2012
With out taking the time to get schooling in the product it is extremely hard to learn other than the basic stuff. In a great many cases the basics are all that my be required. But I would like to learn some of the tricks. There are a number of video's with developers showing various functions but they are very knowledgable with the product. Slow down a little so on may understand what the developer is doing. I also have Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 and the same problem with both of those products. There really is not an easy way to get indepth product knowledge other than using many hours aday. Generally what you do fix is done in a very effective way and makes you say to your self "Good Job".

I had wondered whether or not I could use Gimp for my design work. I loved PhotoShop, but felt I couldn't afford it. After spending several months trying to get my CMYK colors right, I ran across a discounted copy of PhotoShop CS5. Pleasant surprise! It's blindingly fast compared to Gimp. And CMYK conversion is a no-brainer. Well worth whatever you have to pay for it if you want truly professional-looking results.

I have not had CS5 for very long, but just the refine edge tool and the content aware tool is enough to justify it. Any problems I have had with CS5 are because of compatability with 3rd part plug ins and Mac Lion issues.

So far so good - and lucky to have gotten the upgrade to CS6 since I bought within the upgrade window. I do most work in Lightroom, but for the heavy lifting, CS6 is great with more features than Elements. I got lucky and got it with a promo that came with my tablet as otherwise it is too expensive for occasional photo edits.

I'm a long time armature video game modder recently turned professional. So I figured I should upgrade to cs5 from the open source alternative I had been using. I use CS5 primarily for creating Texture maps from scratch or from photo-source and for quick conception. I can't believe how much faster I'm getting my work done. Photoshops Content-aware fill abilities are amazing. I used to take fifteen to twenty minutes cloning and layering to make an image tillable. Now Photoshop dose it for me in just a few seconds.

The program is excellent. My only problem is that I am a first time user of Photoshop. There were no manuals, or instruction books included with this VERY Expensive product. So I'm having to waist a lot of time trying to figure out what icon does what and that's very poor on the company's part. I humbly suggest that you provide at least a bare essentials book with basic user functions spelled out so guys like me can readily use the product. PLEASE!!! Now I have to look up tutorials on line or buy a book which is extra time and money spent.

This product is awesome , only wish I new more to use all of its functions. Years ago when a product was purchased you would have a manual to help use the software. I did not get any manual when I received the software. I truly wish a manual was available as part of the purchase of the software. Other than the need for a manual I have no regrets what so ever.
Thank you Adobe..
